This facility is the first in Europe to establish a fully integrated value chain for 5-HMF (5-hydroxymethylfurfural), a key bio-based building block for next-generation resins and polymers. It represents a milestone in reducing dependency on fossil-based feedstocks.
- Launch Target: 2027
The engineering and construction phases are underway, and commissioning is planned to meet the growing demand for sustainable monomers.
- Design Capacity: 3 kT/year
The demonstrator is designed for industrial-scale output, ensuring a reliable supply for early adopters and paving the way for future capacity expansions.
- Investment: €60 Million
