Araminolic Thermoset Resins: An Innovation by Michelin
Since 2008, the Michelin Group has pioneered araminolic chemistry, a unique innovation that blends aminoplast and phenoplast technologies while replacing formaldehyde with aromatic aldehydes. This innovative approach allows the use of a variety of monomers and is one of the sources of MICHELIN ResiCare's non-toxic and bio-based molecules.
Araminolic resins offer exceptional versatility, with customizable characteristics, such as viscosity, while delivering a broad range of material properties, including:
- Chemical and temperature resistance
- High coke rates
- Ablative properties
- Hardness
- Dimensional stability
The versatility of araminolic chemistry is reflected in a wide range of applications, from textile-reinforced rubber products to wood-based panels and advanced composite materials.

Designed for Performance,
Engineered for Safety
Our Araminolic resins reflect our commitment to eliminating toxicity across the value chain. They are formulated without hazardous monomers and therefore are not classified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) according to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This means they do not contain chemicals known to pose serious risks to human health or the environment.
