Resi4 CARBON/CARBON & Resi4 ABLATION: High-Thermal Bio-Based Resins for Aerospace and Defense Composites
MICHELIN ResiCare launches Resi4 CARBON/CARBON and Resi4 ABLATION, two innovative bio-based araminolic resins designed without formaldehyde. These high-thermal-performance materials offer safer alternatives to phenolic resins for demanding aerospace, defense, and advanced composite applications.
DragonFly Project – Scaling Bio-Based and Non-Toxic Resin Technologies | Michelin ResiCare
DragonFly is Michelin ResiCare’s new industrial project, supported by ADEME, to scale up the production of an innovative bio-based molecule developed through BioImpulse. Through a 400-ton/year demonstrator and strong partnerships with leading French biotech institutes, DragonFly aims to validate the process at industrial scale. By 2029, the project will enable the deployment of non-toxic, sustainable resins while securing a competitive bio-based supply chain in France.
MICHELIN ResiCare begins construction of Europe’s first 5-HMF bio-based plant
ResiCare celebrates the groundbreaking of the first European 5-HMF production unit in Roussillon, France – a milestone for safer, bio-based chemistry.
BioImpulse: Breakthrough Bio-Based Molecule and Adhesive Resins as the Project Reaches Completion
After six years of research, the BioImpulse project confirms the industrial success of a competitive bio-based molecule. This breakthrough enables Michelin ResiCare to produce a new generation of sustainable adhesive resins, free from substances of concern, marking the project’s completion and a decisive step for green chemistry.
100 million tires made with Michelin ResiCare’s formaldehyde-free araminolic resin – a safer future for tire manufacturing
Michelin ResiCare has reached a major milestone with 100 million tires manufactured using its formaldehyde-free araminolic resin. This plug & play solution offers a safer, high-performance alternative to traditional phenolic resins, enabling smooth integration on existing production lines. Already deployed at scale, it sets a new standard for sustainable tire manufacturing.
Michelin announces the construction of an industrial demonstrator in France for the 5-HMF molecule, an essential component of green chemistry
A global first: Michelin announces the construction of an industrial demonstrator in France for the 5-HMF molecule, an essential component of green chemistry. Investments of EUR 60 million to develop a bio-sourced and non-toxic molecule that can replace ingredients derived from fossil fuels in a wide variety of industrial fields. Already used in the Michelin ResiCare resins, its availability on an industrial scale will allow a potential market of over 40,000 metric tons to open by 2030, through the creation of a European industry. A new demonstration of Michelin’s power to innovate and its ability to develop other ultra-innovative applications beyond the tire.
